Lay Preachers Level 2
This course meets the requirements of the South England Conference Adv. Lay Preachers Certificate. It sets out to teach through 12-hours seminar presentations & discussions, Bible study, and preaching assignments. The seminar presentations are designed to educate the participants through discussion of issues affecting effective preaching within the Adventist church in the UK and specifically among its young people.
Participants are required to complete two Bible studies from the Adventist Discover Centre (UK) enhancing their knowledge of the teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Finally, participants are required to present a four (4) sermon series approved by course leader and presented with within time limitations.
Course Content
Pre-requisites:
Must be a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in regular standing.
Church Pastor must approve attendance on this course.
Must have completed Lay Preachers Level 1

Attend and participate in 12 hours of seminar presentations (12 hours)

Course Leader Assignments:
Prepare 4 x 20-minute sermon based on a consecutive Bible story series approved by course leader (80 hours)
Prepare 4 x 20-minute audio recording for evaluation by course leader (4 hour)
Feedback from sermon evaluation (4 hour)
Church-based Assignments: 
Prepare and preach 4 x 20-minute sermon at a suitable church meeting, including Divine Service, Prayer meeting, Vespers, can be online (8 hours)
Personal Assignments:
Complete the Bible's Teaching 1 online Bible study course (24 hours) click here
Complete the Bible's Teaching 2 online Bible study course (12 hours) click here
Total course hours: 144 hours

Course Outcomes:
The participant goal is to confidently present a sermon series in a clear, understandable, creative, and relatable manner. Able to produce a series of sermons that is both independent and connected to each other. By the final sermon presentation the participant should be able to identify the core message and apply it to the life of the young adult.
